After Mike Brown replaced Tom Thibodeau as the new head coach of New York, the Knicks’ entire rotation has been changed.
Josh Hart led his team in minutes under Thibodeau, but now has an adjusted role coming off the bench with a different system that led them to consistent wins on the way to the championship stage.
Hart credited Brown with their success after the Knicks were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2025 postseason.
“He’s the reason why we’re here, and we’ve got love for him. He understands what it is to be a champion. He understands how to build a team, how to build habits that will put you in this position. We’re so grateful, so thankful to have him at the top. He kept us even so many times. He’s brought the best out of us, as people first,” Hart said.
The 31-year-old wing finished Game 5 with 13 points, nine of which came on clutch with triples that helped his team get back into the game after being down by as many as 15 points.
Hart had a high impact on the floor, as he finished with a game-high +15 point differential.
