Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown expressed support for adding a one-on-one competition to NBA All-Star weekend, according to ESPN’s Vincent Goodwill (via Twitter).

Brown said he believes the format would highlight the fundamentals of basketball and create an exciting new element for fans and players alike.

“I’m actually a big fan,” the Celtics‘ All-Star said.

“It’s the purity of the game. I would love to challenge some people here. Like Luka [Doncic], Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander], Donovan [Mitchell]. We could donate to charity. Set it up.”

The concept of a 1-on-1 tournament has gained traction throughout the weekend, especially after the success of the women’s league Unrivaled’s own one-on-one event, which was recently won by Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray.
