
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards earned MVP honors after leading the USA Stars to victory in the 2026 NBA All-Star Championship.
The USA Stars secured the title by defeating the USA Stripes 47-21 in the final game of the mini-tournament, capping off a strong overall performance in the league’s redesigned All-Star format.
The opening three games of the new format featured close and competitive matchups.
In Game 1, the USA Stars edged Team World 37-35 in overtime, with Edwards pacing his squad with 13 points. Victor Wembanyama led Team World with 14 points in the narrow loss.
Game 2 delivered another dramatic finish, as De’Aaron Fox knocked down a buzzer-beater to give the USA Stripes a 42-40 win over the USA Stars.
Jaylen Brown scored a team-high 11 points for the Stripes, while Edwards and Cade Cunningham each contributed 11 points for the Stars.
Game 3 was decided in the final moments as well. Team World had a chance to tie the game, but Wembanyama missed a three-pointer at the buzzer, allowing the USA Stripes to claim a 48-45 victory.

Kawhi Leonard produced the top scoring performance of the tournament with 31 points for the Stripes, while Wembanyama again led Team World, finishing with 19 points.
