Alize Johnson has agreed to a lucrative deal to join the Shenzhen Leopards in China, NBA insider Marc Stein reported Tuesday. Johnson’s agent, George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group, confirmed the signing, marking a new chapter for the five-year NBA veteran.

Johnson, 29, excelled in the G League this season with the Iowa Wolves, averaging 20.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. He played 31.1 minutes per contest across 14 games, showcasing efficiency with a 56.4% field goal percentage and 32.5% from three-point range.

In the NBA, Johnson played 76 games over five seasons with the Pacers, Nets, Bulls, Wizards, Pelicans, and Spurs. His career averages include 2.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in 7.5 minutes per game, with a 48.1% field goal percentage and 22.7% from three.

He also gained international experience with Busan KCC Egis in South Korea, Atléticos de San Germán in Puerto Rico, and the Kawasaki Brave Thunders in Japan.

The move to Shenzhen aligns with a growing trend of NBA and G League players taking their talents to the Chinese Basketball Association, attracted by competitive salaries and significant roles on their new teams.
