Ty Jerome scored 28 points and Cam Spencer delivered a decisive fourth-quarter stretch as the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Sacramento Kings 129-125 on Wednesday, February 4 at Golden 1 Center. Memphis improved to 19-29 with its second straight win, while Sacramento fell to 12-39 and extended its season-worst losing streak to 10 games.

Jerome shot 10-for-14 from the field and added seven assists, controlling tempo in a game that featured multiple lead changes late. The guard’s efficiency helped Memphis maintain offensive balance after moving Jaren Jackson Jr. to Utah in a trade finalized one day earlier.

Spencer finished with 20 points and hit three key baskets in the final minutes, including a three-pointer with 18 seconds left that restored a four-point margin. His late shot-making provided the spacing needed to counter Sacramento’s push behind DeMar DeRozan.

Jaylen Wells scored 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting from deep, while GG Jackson added 16 and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope chipped in 15 off the bench. Santi Aldama returned from a right knee injury with 12 points and six rebounds, giving Memphis additional frontcourt depth.

The visitors shot 50% overall and 44% from three-point range, finishing with 30 assists and 18 made threes. Ball movement and perimeter accuracy allowed the Grizzlies to offset Sacramento’s rebounding edge and physical interior play.

Domantas Sabonis led the Kings with 24 points and 15 rebounds, scoring 20 of those points in the first half. The center’s presence on the glass kept the hosts competitive despite defensive lapses during key stretches.

DeRozan added 20 points, while Nique Clifford scored 14 and Russell Westbrook and Malik Monk contributed 13 each. Westbrook passed Hakeem Olajuwon for 14th place on the NBA’s career scoring list with a first-quarter three-pointer and now sits behind Elvin Hayes.

Sacramento’s new addition De’Andre Hunter started in his team debut and finished with nine points, including a made three-pointer on his first attempt. The Kings struggled from long range overall, shooting 31% from beyond the arc compared to Memphis’ efficient perimeter performance.

Late in the fourth quarter, Spencer’s three-pointer at the 2:08 mark pushed Memphis ahead 122-118 before a jumper by Jackson extended the gap. DeRozan answered with a three to cut the deficit to one, but another Spencer three sealed the outcome.

Memphis continues its road trip with back-to-back games at Portland on Friday and Saturday. Sacramento returns home Friday to face the Los Angeles Clippers as it searches for answers during a difficult stretch in the Western Conference standings.
