Jazz guard Keyonte George sustained a left ankle sprain late in the fourth quarter of Friday’s loss to Brooklyn, according to Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune.

X-rays on the ankle were negative, but Larsen reported that George was clearly limping in the locker room and receiving treatment from the training staff, suggesting the injury could sideline the 22-year-old for some time.

George has been enjoying a breakout third season in Utah, posting averages of 24.1 points, 6.6 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.1 steals while shooting .454/.378/.899 over 46 games in 34.4 minutes per night.

He led the Jazz again on Friday with 26 points on 9-of-11 shooting, along with seven assists and three rebounds in 32 minutes.

If George misses games, Utah could lean more heavily on second-year guard Isaiah Collier and rookie Walter Clayton Jr. to fill the backcourt minutes. The Jazz dropped to 15–34 with the loss.

Meanwhile, two-way guard Elijah Harkless remains out with a hamstring injury, but he told Larsen on Friday that he expects to return in a couple of weeks.
