Warriors star Stephen Curry poured in 26 points in just 28 minutes during Sunday’s lopsided victory in Minnesota and afterward expressed guarded optimism about playing in Monday’s rematch with the Timberwolves (Twitter video link via Warriors on NBCS).

Despite that optimism, Curry was dealing with discomfort in his right knee, according to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, and was eventually ruled out of the second game of the back-to-back set.

Head coach Steve Kerr downplayed the severity of the injury, Nick Friedell of The Athletic reports (Twitter link), saying the knee issue is not considered serious.

The Golden State coach added that he is hopeful the 37-year-old will be able to return to the lineup for Wednesday’s game in Utah.
