Jalen Williams to be evaluated Sunday

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams was forced to leave Saturday’s loss against the Miami Heat after suffering a right leg injury.

The Thunder described the issue as right thigh soreness, though Williams appeared to be clutching at his hamstring at the moment the injury occurred.

He exited the game in the second quarter and was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Head coach Mark Daigneault said Williams is scheduled to undergo further evaluation on Sunday.

Oklahoma City’s next game comes Monday afternoon on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers, leaving limited time for clarity on his status.

Williams had been a model of availability since returning in late November, appearing in 24 straight games.

That stretch followed a lengthy absence to open the season, as the starting forward missed the Thunder’s first 19 games while recovering from offseason surgery on his right wrist.
