The Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies meet Sunday, January 18, in an international regular-season game at The O2 in London, with both teams monitoring key injuries ahead of the noon ET tipoff.
Orlando enters the matchup at 23-18, fifth in the Eastern Conference, riding a two-game winning streak. Memphis sits 17-23 and 11th in the West, looking to bounce back after a loss earlier this week.
This is the second meeting between the teams in four days and the final one of the season series. Orlando claimed a 118-111 win over Memphis on January 15 in Berlin, controlling the paint and winning the rebounding battle.
The Magic will again be without Jalen Suggs, who remains out with a right knee MCL contusion. Suggs averages 15.0 points and 4.7 assists and is one of Orlando’s top perimeter defenders.
Colin Castleton is also out with a fractured left thumb, limiting frontcourt depth behind Wendell Carter Jr. and Goga Bitadze. Jett Howard is listed as questionable due to illness after averaging 10.7 minutes off the bench this season.
Orlando’s offense continues to run through Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. The forward duo combines for 43.6 points per game and gives the Magic a size advantage on the wings.
Memphis’ injury report is more extensive and centers on the availability of Ja Morant. The All-Star guard is listed as probable with a right calf contusion after missing time earlier this month.
Morant has appeared in only 18 games but averages 19.0 points and 7.6 assists, making his status critical for Memphis’ ball movement and transition offense.
The Grizzlies are already without Zach Edey, Brandon Clarke, Ty Jerome, and Scotty Pippen Jr., while Santi Aldama is questionable with a right calf contusion. Aldama averages 14.1 points and 6.7 rebounds and played a major role in stretching the floor this season.
With Edey sidelined, Memphis leans heavily on Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jock Landale in the frontcourt. Jackson leads the team with 18.8 points per game and anchors the defense.
