The Detroit Pistons delivered a lopsided performance Saturday night, overwhelming the Indiana Pacers 121-78 at Little Caesars Arena.

The 43-point margin matched the ninth-largest victory in Pistons franchise history and reinforced Detroit’s status as the top team in the Eastern Conference.

Cade Cunningham and Duncan Robinson each scored 16 points in limited minutes as Detroit cruised without needing extended runs from its starters.

Detroit won for the fifth time in six games and received scoring contributions from 13 different players.

Jalen Duren added 15 points and eight rebounds, controlling the interior while playing just 23 minutes before sitting out the fourth quarter.

The game was effectively decided within the first seven minutes, as Indiana missed 10 of its first 11 shots and committed five turnovers.

Detroit capitalized immediately, racing to a 24-2 lead that left the visitors chasing the game for the remainder of the night.

By halftime, the score stood at 59-25, marking Detroit’s best defensive half of the season and Indiana’s worst offensive half.

The Pacers shot just 23.3 percent in the opening two quarters and went 1-for-18 from three-point range while also missing seven of 11 free throws.

Cunningham, Robinson, and Duren combined for 30 first-half points, outscoring the entire Indiana roster by five.

Detroit’s lead swelled to 44 points in the third quarter, prompting coach J.B. Bickerstaff to pull his starters for the remainder of the game.

Cunningham and Robinson were the only Pistons starters to reach 20 minutes, a reflection of how little resistance Indiana offered.

The Pacers entered the night severely undermanned, resting Pascal Siakam and missing Benedict Mathurin, Andrew Nembhard, Obi Toppin, and T.J. McConnell due to injury.

Jarace Walker led Indiana with 13 points, while Tony Bradley added 12 off the bench in an otherwise difficult night.

Indiana shot 35 percent overall and turned the ball over 24 times, leading directly to Detroit’s early separation.

The loss snapped a stretch in which the Pacers had won four of five games and dropped them to 10-33 on the season.

Detroit improved to 30-10 and remained alone atop the Eastern Conference standings.

The Pistons host the Boston Celtics on Monday in a matchup of the conference’s top two teams.

Indiana continues its road trip Monday in Philadelphia, playing its third game in four nights.
