Los Angeles Lakers big man Jaxson Hayes is undergoing further evaluation after dealing with discomfort in his left hamstring, as he received an MRI on Tuesday, according to head coach JJ Redick.

The issue has been lingering longer than initially expected, though Hayes has continued to push through it.

Speaking briefly with ESPN’s Dave McMenamin while entering the arena, Hayes explained that the tightness has been present for more than a week.

Despite that, he logged 19 minutes in Monday’s game against the Sacramento Kings, suggesting the injury hasn’t completely sidelined him.

The center remains optimistic about the outcome of the imaging and is hopeful that the results won’t reveal anything serious.

Hayes has played 7 seasons for the Pelicans and Lakers. He has averaged 6.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 399 regular-season games.
