The Memphis Grizzlies may find fewer viable paths than expected as they explore trade possibilities involving Ja Morant, according to Zach Harper of The Athletic.

Despite Morant’s age and All-Star credentials, Harper suggests the market could mirror the limited return the Atlanta Hawks received when they moved Trae Young.

A major hurdle is positional saturation, with roughly half the league already set at point guard.

Teams such as the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks, and Orlando Magic are viewed as unrealistic due to asset or salary limitations.

Atlanta is unlikely to re-enter the point guard market so soon.

Harper narrows realistic suitors to the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, and Dallas Mavericks, though none are seamless fits.

He suggests Morant may be best served by finishing the season strong to rebuild value, while Memphis continues weighing whether its current offers are sufficient or if patience could yield more before the deadline.
