LeBron James will don a special patch on his Los Angeles Lakers jersey Monday when the team faces the Sacramento Kings, marking his 23rd NBA season. The patch features a silhouette of his pregame chalk toss and three stripes representing Cleveland, Miami, and Los Angeles, the franchises he has played for, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

James, 41, is averaging 21.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game through 19 contests this season while shooting 51% from the field. His milestone season comes as the Lakers hold a 23–13 record, fifth in the Western Conference, trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder by 8 games.

The Lakers’ roster is led by Luka Doncic, who is averaging 33.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, and Austin Reaves, contributing 26.6 points with a 50.7% shooting clip. Deandre Ayton anchors the paint with 13.9 points and 8.3 rebounds.

Monday’s game against the Kings is symbolic, as Sacramento was the city where James began his NBA career in 2003.

The patch will remain on the Lakers’ jerseys throughout the season, offering fans a visual reminder of James’ historic career while showcasing the NBA’s first player to reach 23 seasons in the league.
