The Chicago Bulls announced Monday that their home game against the Miami Heat, originally set for January 8 has been rescheduled for January 29. The teams’ subsequent road matchup in Miami will now take place on January 31 instead of January 30.

The initial postponement occurred due to condensation on the United Center court, caused by residual ice from a Blackhawks game and unseasonably warm, rainy conditions in Chicago. Efforts to dry the floor over nearly two hours proved insufficient, leading officials to call off the game at 8:53 p.m.

Players reported the court felt slippery during warmups, with Heat coach Erik Spoelstra and Bulls guards Tre Jones and Coby White citing safety concerns. The delay marked only the second time in NBA history a game was postponed due to court conditions.

Chicago enters the rescheduled matchup with an 18–20 record, sitting 10th in the Eastern Conference and trailing the playoff eighth seed Miami Heat by 1.5 games. The Bulls are led by Josh Giddey, who averages 19.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, and Coby White, contributing 18.6 points while shooting 45% from the field.

Miami, at 20–19, holds the eighth seed, powered by Norman Powell’s 23.8 points per game and Tyler Herro’s 21.8 points in limited appearances. Bam Adebayo adds 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds, providing the team with a balanced inside-outside attack.
