LeBron James is reportedly still expected to prioritize a return to the Los Angeles Lakers for next season despite continued speculation about his future.
According to Jake Fischer and Marc Stein, remaining in Los Angeles remains James’ preferred outcome as he approaches another offseason decision.
The Golden State Warriors continue to be mentioned as a potential alternative. Golden State is reportedly interested in pairing James with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler in an effort to strengthen its veteran core.
Any move to either team would likely require financial flexibility from James, as both scenarios could involve him accepting less than the $52.6 million he earned last season.
Meanwhile, a return to the Cleveland Cavaliers is considered unlikely due to salary-cap limitations and the fact that such a move would require James to leave Los Angeles.
The 41-year-old remained highly productive last season, averaging 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game while continuing to perform at an All-Star level.
