Jalen Brunson scored 26 points and Karl-Anthony Towns added 20 points, 11 rebounds, and a season-high seven assists as the New York Knicks snapped a four-game losing streak with a 123-111 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night.
Towns scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to break the game open, while OG Anunoby added 20 and Miles McBride contributed 16 points for New York.
The Knicks turned a 105-101 deficit into a 123-111 victory with a 24-7 run spanning the late third quarter into the fourth, fueled by aggressive offense and efficient ball movement.
Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 25 points, and James Harden added 23 points and nine assists, but Los Angeles was unable to contain New York down the stretch.
Ivica Zubac posted 22 points and 11 rebounds, and John Collins finished with 18 points and 10 boards for the Clippers, who have now lost two of their last nine games.
Los Angeles started strong with a 14-5 lead, but New York answered with an eight-point run to keep the game close through three quarters. The Knicks seized control in the fourth with Towns’ three-point play and follow-up basket, extending a five-point lead to 105-92.
New York shot 50 percent from the field and 42 percent from three-point range, outrebounded the Clippers 48-40, and recorded 31 assists to balance the attack.
The victory moves the Knicks to 24-13, keeping them four games behind Eastern Conference leader Detroit, while the Clippers fall to 13-23 and continue to struggle in the Western Conference.
The Knicks will start a four-game road trip Friday at Phoenix, while Los Angeles hosts Brooklyn the same night.
