Anthony Edwards scored 26 points, including five three-pointers, as the Minnesota Timberwolves cruised to a 122-94 victory over the Miami Heat at Target Center on Tuesday, January 6. The win marks Minnesota’s third consecutive victory and their second over Miami in just four days.

Jaden McDaniels added 19 points, while Rudy Gobert posted a double-double with 13 points and 17 rebounds. Julius Randle contributed 15 points and 11 boards, helping Minnesota maintain control despite Edwards sitting several minutes in the first and third quarters due to foul trouble.

Minnesota built a seven-point halftime lead and steadily extended it through the second half. Randle hit a deep three-pointer to push the advantage to 87-73 late in the third quarter, with Dante DiVincenzo adding two more triples to make it 93-77 heading into the fourth.

The Heat, led by Norman Powell with 21 points, threatened to rally early but never closed the gap. Tyler Herro returned from an 11-game absence with 17 points off the bench, while Miami struggled to contain Minnesota’s balanced scoring attack.

Edwards finished 8-of-18 from the field and 5-of-8 from three, hitting five free throws, while McDaniels and Randle also contributed in the paint. Gobert’s 16 defensive rebounds helped limit Miami second-chance opportunities, cementing the Wolves’ dominance.

Both teams emptied their benches with over four minutes remaining as Minnesota held a 28-point lead. The Timberwolves shot 46% from the field and 36% from beyond the arc, while Miami finished 36% overall with just 32% from three-point range.
