The Minnesota Timberwolves travel to Miami to face the Heat on Saturday, January 3, at Kaseya Center, with tipoff set for 5:00 p.m. ET. Minnesota holds a 21-13 record and enters on a one-game losing streak after a 102-126 defeat to Atlanta. Miami sits at 19-15 and is riding a four-game winning streak following a 118-112 victory over Detroit.

Minnesota will be without Joan Beringer, Enrique Freeman, Terrence Shannon Jr., and Rocco Zikarsky. Shannon is sidelined with a left foot abductor hallucis strain, while the other three are assigned to the G League.

Key contributors Anthony Edwards (29.1 points, 5.0 rebounds) and Julius Randle (22.3 points, 7.0 rebounds) are expected to lead the lineup alongside Jaden McDaniels, Rudy Gobert, and Donte DiVincenzo.

The Heat have several injury questions heading into the matchup. Bam Adebayo is listed as probable with lower back soreness, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. (right thigh contusion) and Nikola Jovic (right elbow contusion/laceration) are also probable. Tyler Herro (right big toe contusion) and Terry Rozier (not with team) are out, with Pelle Larsson questionable due to a right ankle sprain.

Andrew Wiggins (16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds) and Norman Powell (24.2 points, 3.9 rebounds) are expected to carry Miami’s offense.

This game marks the first meeting of the season between the two squads.
