Tari Eason has emerged as a key piece for the Houston Rockets, starting five games so far and helping the team win each one.
According to William Guillory of The Athletic, Houston has benefited from Eason’s energy and versatility, even when plays aren’t designed specifically for him.
Head coach Ime Udoka highlighted Eason’s impact, noting that he influences the game in multiple ways.
“He’s very unique and he impacts the game even if you don’t call plays for him all the time,” Udoka said, adding that Eason’s shooting, rebounding, and ability to handle or screen have expanded his role within the offense.
The Rockets have tested various lineup combinations around Kevin Durant, Amen Thompson, Alperen Sengun, and Jabari Smith Jr., but Eason’s presence has stood out.
Lineups featuring him have produced a +47.4 net rating in limited minutes, far exceeding other combinations.
While the sample size remains small, Houston appears likely to continue using that group as it searches for consistency.
