The Milwaukee Bucks are not expected to trade Giannis Antetokounmpo unless he clearly asks out, something he has shown little interest in doing. Instead, the team is focused on improving the roster around him as it looks to stay competitive.

Milwaukee has explored potential trades for guards Zach LaVine and Malik Monk from the Sacramento Kings.

LaVine carries a massive contract at $47.5 million this season with a player option for next year, while Monk is more affordable at $18.8 million with two additional years remaining, the final one also a player option.

The Bucks have also discussed Portland forward Jerami Grant, who is owed $32 million this season and $70.6 million through 2027–28.

Any major move would require sending out multiple players to match salaries, and in some cases, involving a third team.

A deal with Portland is complicated by the fact that the Trail Blazers control Milwaukee’s first-round picks from 2028 to 2030, leaving the Bucks unable to trade a clean first-rounder until 2032.
