There was some expectation that the Los Angeles Clippers might move Chris Paul once he became trade-eligible on December 15, but no deal came together.

Although the team has officially moved on from the longtime face of the franchise, they are working with his representatives to help find a landing spot that fits what he wants at this stage of his career, according to Jake Fischer.

Paul’s minimum contract makes him easy to move in theory, but a trade does not appear close.

Sources suggest he could instead be included in a larger deal near the February 5 deadline, after which he could be waived and choose his next team as a free agent.

Despite years of speculation, the Lakers are not expected to pursue Paul.

Houston has also been mentioned as a possibility, but the Rockets are reportedly satisfied with their roster and unlikely to make changes until late January due to their proximity to the first apron.
