The Grizzlies may receive a boost to their lineup on Friday, as both Ja Morant and Cedric Coward have been listed as questionable ahead of their matchup with Milwaukee.
Their potential returns could provide some much-needed relief for a Memphis team that has been navigating another injury-heavy stretch.
Morant has been sidelined after spraining his left ankle last Monday, an injury that occurred just two games into his return from a right calf issue that previously kept him out for 10 contests.
Since the ankle setback, he has missed the Grizzlies’ last four games, forcing the team to adjust once again without its primary playmaker.
Coward, the 11th overall selection in this year’s draft, is also working through a health concern of his own.
The rookie is dealing with soreness in his left heel, which caused him to miss Tuesday’s loss in Utah. That marked the first game he has been unavailable for during his professional career.
Memphis continues to battle through a long injury list, with six players already ruled out for Friday’s game, including Brandon Clarke, Zach Edey, Ty Jerome, John Konchar, Scotty Pippen Jr., and Vince Williams Jr.
Despite the constant lineup changes and limited depth, the Grizzlies have managed to remain competitive, sitting at 14–16 through their first 30 games of the season.
