Devin Booker praised his team’s performance in the 132-108 rout of the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday at the Mortgage Matchup Center. “It was a big win for us. After Christmas, we’re going into three games in four nights. So to get it over with in three quarters… it was super important,” he said, highlighting the advantage of resting key players.
Booker credited Dillon Brooks for setting the tone. “He’s going to bring that fight. He’s going to be that energy. We rally behind him the most that we can… it’s a domino effect throughout the whole team,” he said, noting Brooks’ 25-point output.
He also highlighted Jamaree Bouyea’s contributions off the bench. “I had never heard of him before he got to the team… tonight he showed the mid-range game and finishing at the rim. He’s been an unbelievable pickup for us,” Booker said, emphasizing Bouyea’s poise and efficiency.
The Suns’ supporting cast impressed Booker as well. “Collin Gillespie, tough dude… Goodman, he always has a huge play or two or three every game. These guys are really inspiring. We all feed off each other’s energy, and the energy never dips,” he added.
Booker appreciated the balance and teamwork displayed by Phoenix. “It was fun to watch those guys… they work so hard to get the time that they deserve. Absolutely awesome fun stuff out there,” he said, referring to the rotation players gaining valuable minutes.
He also reflected on the team’s mindset. “Win or lose, we come in the next day in the facility, we’re there to get better. We go over game plan, get on the same page, and compete the hardest we can,” Booker said, highlighting the Suns’ culture of accountability.
During the game, Phoenix outscored Los Angeles 45-29 in the third quarter to seize control. Brooks scored 12 points in the decisive frame while Booker added seven, and all five starters finished in double figures. Booker also contributed 11 assists, helping maintain offensive balance against a Lakers team missing Luka Doncic.
The victory improved Phoenix to 16-13, marking their second win in three matchups against the Lakers this season, while Los Angeles dropped to 19-9.
