The Washington Wizards dethroned the Memphis Grizzlies with a second-half comeback, erasing a 20-point trail, 130-122 on Saturday evening.

CJ McCollum and Kyshawn George scored 28 points each, while Alex Sarr added 18 points and 11 rebounds, to snap their seven-game losing streak, where they had not won since January 5, 2018, in Memphis.

On the other hand, Memphis big man Santi Aldama contributed a career-high of 37 points and 10 rebounds, while Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 22, and Cam Spencer with 19.

The game was tied at 115 with 4:31 left in the game, until Sarr gave the Wizards a three-pointer to lead 121-119 with 2:16 left, and they secured the lead until the end of the clash.

The Grizzlies had only nine players available, as Brandon Clark went out in the first quarter with right calf soreness.

Additionally, Jackson and Jork Landale were saddled with five fouls apiece, allowing the Wizards to claw their way back in the third quarter.

The Wizards stayed close through the midpoint of the second quarter, when Memphis had a 17-5 run, which fueled Memphis to a 68-53 halftime lead.

The Washington Wizards aim to end their slump when they face the Spurs on Sunday, while the Memphis Grizzlies will be on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.
