Olympiacos Piraeus delivered a commanding response to recent struggles by overpowering LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne 107-84 on Friday, December 19, at the Peace and Friendship Stadium. The win snapped a three-game losing streak and improved the Reds’ EuroLeague record to 9-7.

Olympiacos set the tone early and never relented, controlling the game on both ends while steadily increasing the margin. The hosts outscored ASVEL in every quarter and broke the contest open after halftime by scoring 63 points in the second half.

Ball movement and efficiency defined the performance. Olympiacos finished with 25 assists, shot 68.4 percent from two-point range, and converted 42.9 percent of its attempts from beyond the arc.

Tyler Dorsey led all scorers with 22 points, knocking down four three-pointers while adding a season-high six assists. His ability to create off the dribble consistently collapsed ASVEL’s defense.

Sasha Vezenkov produced a well-rounded stat line with 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists, marking his highest assist total of the season. The forward emphasized the importance of building habits after the game.

Evan Fournier delivered his most efficient outing of the campaign. The French guard scored a season-high 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting and went 5-for-6 at the free-throw line.

Frank Ntilikina also reached double figures, finishing with 11 points in his best scoring performance since joining Olympiacos. His perimeter defense helped disrupt ASVEL’s rhythm.

The Reds’ defensive activity was just as decisive. Olympiacos forced 16 turnovers, recorded nine steals, and limited ASVEL’s ability to sustain offensive momentum despite respectable shooting percentages inside the arc.

ASVEL, which fell to 4-13, struggled to match the physicality and pace of the home side. Edwin Jackson and Shaquille Harrison attempted to organize the offense, but the French club was repeatedly punished in transition and on defensive rotations.

For Olympiacos, the result carried significance beyond the standings. After losing four of their previous five games, the performance offered a blueprint built on chemistry, effort, and execution.

Olympiacos will look to carry this momentum on the road against Virtus Bologna next week, while ASVEL returns to Villeurbanne to host Anadolu Efes.
