AS Monaco responded emphatically to recent setbacks by dismantling FC Bayern Munich 103-77 on Friday, December 19, at Salle Gaston Médecin. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak and lifted Monaco to 10-7, including a 6-2 record at home.

Bayern opened the game with confidence and raced to an early 11-2 lead before stretching the margin to 17-8. Monaco answered decisively with a 20-2 run that flipped control and set the tone for the rest of the night.

The hosts imposed their will after halftime. Monaco opened the third quarter with a 10-2 spurt and later buried Bayern with a devastating 20-3 run that turned a competitive contest into a blowout.

Monaco’s defensive discipline fueled its offensive balance. The home side shot an elite 71.4 percent on two-point attempts, knocked down 40 percent from three, and outrebounded Bayern 41-25.

Seven Monaco players scored in double figures, highlighting a collective performance that produced a club-record team index rating of 147. The mark also stands as the highest team PIR recorded by any EuroLeague side this season.

Elie Okobo led the scoring with 18 points and four assists, repeatedly breaking down Bayern’s perimeter defense. Nikola Mirotic added 16 points, while Mike James finished with 14 points and six assists.

Kevarrius Hayes contributed 11 points in the paint, Daniel Theis scored 10, and Matthew Strazel added 10 points and five assists to maintain pressure across all units. Monaco finished with 24 assists, underscoring its ball movement and spacing.

For Bayern, the loss extended an eight-game losing streak and marked its seventh consecutive EuroLeague road defeat. Oscar da Silva paced the visitors with 13 points, while the team shot just 31 percent from three-point range.

Monaco will look to build on the momentum when it hosts Real Madrid next Friday. Bayern returns home to face Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, hoping a change of venue helps halt its slide.
