The Minnesota Timberwolves dethroned the Sacramento Kings 117-103 without superstar Anthony Edwards on Sunday evening.

Wolves forward Julius Randle took charge with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Jaden McDaniels scored 21 and Naz Reid added 20 and 11 rebounds.

Donte DiVincenzo and Bones Hyland had 18 points each, stepping up for the absence of Edwards in the guard roster.

They have won seven of eight and exacted a measure of revenge for their 117-112 overtime loss at Sacramento last November 24.

On the other hand, Kings’ star DeMar DeRozan, Dennis Schroder, and Precious Achiuwa had 17 points.

Sacramento has lost 15 of its last 18 and has its worst winning percentage since the 2008-09 season, when it finished 17-65.

Schroder returned to action from a hip injury, but Zach LaVine, who was taking charge in scoring, injured his ankle in the second quarter and did not return.

The Timberwolves are 14-1 against teams currently with losing records, but their only loss came against the Kings.

They won the season series 3-1, having already faced Sacramento four times in 26 games.

Kings forward Keegan Murray was highlighted by a career-high five blocks, which gave the Wolves a hard time on offense in the first half.

However, they were devastated by two long scoreless stretches; a 14-0 run by the wolves and a 15-0 run in the third.
