Kosner Baskonia announced on Wednesday, December 10, the signing of Nigerian forward Eugene Omoruyi on a two-month deal, with an option to extend through the end of the 2025-26 season. Omoruyi arrives from Al Nasr in Dubai and will join the team in Madrid ahead of upcoming EuroLeague games.

The 28-year-old forward played last season with the Raptors 905 in the NBA G-League, averaging 18.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.

He also spent time in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, and Washington Wizards, appearing in 87 games and averaging 5.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.7 assists over his career.

Baskonia currently sits 15th in the EuroLeague standings with a 5-9 record, posting a -48 point differential over 14 games. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot leads the team with 19.7 points per game, while Hamidou Diallo, who recently left the team, contributed 12.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest. The squad has struggled to maintain consistency, going 5-5 in its last 10 games.

The short-term contract allows Baskonia to integrate Omoruyi into the roster immediately, addressing gaps in the forward rotation while keeping the option open to retain him for the remainder of the season.
