Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times, with just five days remaining until the trade deadline, the Chicago Bulls are keeping communication lines open with both the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors.

The Bulls’ front office is closely observing how these teams approach their pursuit of Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler.

Cowley points out that if either franchise fails to acquire Butler, they may shift their focus to exploring trades for Bulls veterans Zach LaVine and/or Nikola Vucevic.

Among the two teams, Golden State appears to be in a stronger position than Phoenix to make a serious push for one of those players.

Additionally, the Bulls are interested in potentially playing a facilitating role in a larger Butler trade. However, Cowley acknowledges that this scenario is less likely to materialize.
