Spurs center Luke Kornet blocked Franz Wagner’s game-tying layup in the last seconds of the fourth quarter, while De’Aaron Fox converted a pair of free throws to lift a two-point lead with 1.4 seconds left.
San Antonio has won seven of nine with Victor Wembanyama out with a strained left calf.
Meanwhile, Magic forward Wagner led his team with 25 points, Jalen Suggs added 24 points and three steals before fouling out with 25.6 seconds left.
Desmond Bane coming off consecutive 37-point games, finished with 14 points and six assists after two big shots down the stretch.
With Paolo Bancherro sidelined due to a strained groin, it was the Magic’s third loss in 10 games.
San Antonio rookie Dylan Harper also contributed 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists off the bench, and Devin Vassell with 15 points and six rebounds.
Although Fox helped the Spurs survived in the late stretch, he had seven of the team’s 19 turnovers.
After closing out the match, the San Antonio Spurs look forward to another win when they face the Cleveland Cavaliers, while the Magic aim to end their drought against the Miami Heat on Friday.
