Toronto Raptors wing RJ Barrett is set to be sidelined for at least a week after suffering a sprained right knee. Barrett sustained the injury during Toronto’s win over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, forcing him out of action even as the team continued its strong play.

Before being ruled out, the veteran wing had started all 17 of the Raptors’ games this season. He was absent from Monday’s victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, and medical imaging later confirmed that, while the knee is sprained, there is no structural damage.

Barrett had been playing an important role for Toronto prior to the injury. So far this season, he has averaged 19.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, and he is shooting a career-high 50.6% from the field.
