The Hellenic Basketball Federation has revealed Greece’s 18-man roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup 2027, with the inclusion of five EuroLeague players.
While head tactician Vassilis Spanoulis assembled a roster that was a mix of familiar and new faces, competing for their flag, the five EuroLeague players were from Olympiacos and Panathinaikos Aktor.
However, EuroLeague players will gradually join international training, starting with Round 13 of the season. The Greens will host Partizan Mozzart Bet in the Telekom Center Athens on Tuesday, and the Reds will visit Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet in the Belgrade Arena on Wednesday.
There are four rookie players who will join the senior national team, including Nikolaos Touliatos, Elijah Mtrou Long, Nikolaos Plotas, and Nikos Persidis, who will have their first opportunity to work with the national squad.
Olympiacos will be represented by Kostas Papanikolaou, Giannoulis Larentzakis, and Kostas Antetokounmpo, while Panathinaikos will be represented by Panagiotis Kalaitzakis and Alexandros Samontourov.
