The “Greek Freak” is taking pride in everything they have accomplished this EuroBasket 2025.

Bronze Medal

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo came off with a strong note before the upcoming NBA season starts, as he led Greece to obtain its bronze medal against Finland.

He finished with 30 points and grabbed 17 boards to a 92-89 victory. It was Greece’s first bronze medal since 2009.

“We did it. This is probably one of the biggest accomplishments that I’ve ever accomplished as an athlete,” said Antetokounmpo.

“I know I’ve won an NBA championship, but there’s no feeling like representing your national team and representing 12 million people that breathe and live this national team. This is probably the greatest accomplishment so far in my life.”

He took pride in his country, bringing it into the international scene that can compete at one of the highest levels of basketball.

Giannis responds to Alperen Sengun

Houston Rockets star Alperen Sengun labeled Antetokounmpo as not a great passer after Turkey outlasting Greece in the semi-finals matchup.

“He’s not a great passer. He’s an amazing player, you know, but he’s not a great passer. So we just tried to help and jump to close the paint,” Sengun said via ClutchPoints on X.

The NBA champion responded so maturely that he had nothing to prove.

“I’m a guy who doesn’t like to talk a lot. You know, I let my game talk,” Giannis said in the press conference after winning the bronze medal in EuroBasket 2025. “I’m going to my 13th season in the NBA. I’ve won everything. Everything.”

“And this was the thing that I hadn’t won [a medal with the national team]. And I won. You know, I have an incredible family. I think I have incredible people who support me every single day. I’ve built incredible relationships. And I love to carry myself that way.”

Antetokounmpo ended the tournament averaging 27.3 points, 10.6 boards, 4.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, being a two-way player in seven appearances.
