The Dallas Mavericks will be without Anthony Davis for at least seven to ten more days while he continues to rehab a left calf strain, NBA insider Shams Charania reported Sunday. Davis has been sidelined since October 29, limiting his early-season contributions.

The seven-time All-Star is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists over five games this season. His absence leaves a significant void in Dallas’ frontcourt, where depth has already been tested this season.

The Mavericks currently hold a 4-10 record. With Davis sidelined, Dallas has leaned on P.J. Washington Jr. and Cooper Flagg as primary scorers (each 15.2 PPG), while D’Angelo Russell has handled playmaking duties (4.8 APG) and Daniel Gafford has provided inside scoring and rebounding.

Dallas has struggled to maintain consistency without Davis, particularly in the paint, where his 6.8 defensive rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game have been difficult to replace. The team is relying on younger players like Dereck Lively II and Moussa Cisse to fill the gap, while veterans attempt to stabilize rotations.

Davis’ rehab process will focus on ensuring full strength and mobility in his left calf, prioritizing long-term durability over a quick return.
