The Memphis Grizzlies have added depth to their injury-hit backcourt, signing 2025 second-round pick Jahmai Mashack to a two-way NBA contract, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. To create space for Mashack, Memphis has waived forward PJ Hall, sources confirmed Sunday.

Mashack, the 59th overall pick, was selected by the Houston Rockets before his rights were traded to Memphis from the Golden State Warriors via the Phoenix Suns. The 23-year-old guard completed his college career at Tennessee, where he averaged 6.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.7 steals in 38 games last season.

The Grizzlies have been forced to shuffle their rotation after injuries sidelined four of their point guards, highlighting the need for immediate reinforcements.

Memphis currently holds a 4-10 record, with Ja Morant leading the team at 17.9 points and 7.6 assists per game. Jaren Jackson Jr. is contributing 17.9 points and 5.2 rebounds, while Zach Edey has provided a solid presence in the paint with 14.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest.

The two-way deal allows Mashack to split time between the NBA roster and the team’s G League affiliate, giving Memphis flexibility as they manage injuries and evaluate depth.

Hall, who averaged 2.0 points and 0.5 rebounds over seven games this season, will be released to free agency.
