Despite a hostile crowd in Indianapolis that booed loudly – particularly targeting former Pacer Myles Turner – the Milwaukee Bucks edged out the Indiana Pacers 117–115 on Monday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, battling through left knee patellar tendinopathy, delivered a vintage performance, scoring 33 points, grabbing 13 rebounds, and sealing the win with a dramatic fadeaway jumper at the buzzer. The victory improved Milwaukee’s record to 5–2 on the season.

“I just wanted to make sure I take the last shot,” Antetokounmpo told reporters after the game. “A possession or two before that, I shot a shot and I was short. The only thing I was thinking about was just start your dribble at like six seconds, shoot it at like two or one second, and just shoot it long, which I did and it went in.”

Describing the final play, the two-time MVP said instinct took over.

“The moment I was spinning, I felt his guy coming and I saw Myles [Turner] for like a split second underneath the basket, but I knew that it was one second and I had to shoot the ball,” he explained.

Antetokounmpo emphasized his mindset in clutch moments, adding, “You can live if you miss, but you cannot live if you don’t shoot it.”

Alongside his game-winner, Giannis finished with five assists and two steals in just under 32 minutes of play.
