The Boston Celtics will be without Jayson Tatum for Friday’s NBA Cup matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers due to right Achilles repair. Ron Harper Jr., Max Shulga, and Amari Williams remain out on two-way G League assignments.
Tatum has been sidelined since the start of the season, leaving Jaylen Brown and Derrick White to lead Boston’s backcourt, with Brown averaging 26.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
Philadelphia faces several absences, including Paul George (left knee surgery), Dominick Barlow (right elbow laceration), and Jared McCain (right thumb surgery). The 76ers are currently 4-0, remaining undefeated early in the 2025-26 campaign.
Joel Embiid continues to anchor Philadelphia’s frontcourt, averaging 17.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, while Tyrese Maxey leads the team with 37.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists.
Boston enters the game with a 2-3 record, rebounding from a 125–105 win over Cleveland, while Philadelphia remains unbeaten at 4-0.
Game time is set for 7:00 PM ET at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.
