FC Bayern Munich snapped a three-game skid with a 90–84 comeback victory over Real Madrid on Tuesday night, powered by a career-best performance from Isiaha Mike at SAP Garden.
The forward delivered 29 points, 7 rebounds and shot 6-for-8 from inside the arc to lead Bayern (3–4) to its most significant win of the young EuroLeague season. His effort helped the German side overcome a 13-point halftime deficit and hand Los Blancos (3–4) their fourth loss of the campaign.
Bayern started strong with a 13–2 opening run but struggled to contain Real Madrid’s offense in the second quarter, trailing 44–57 at halftime. Mike’s first-half scoring kept the hosts afloat before he took over in the third quarter. The 28-year-old forward scored 12 of Bayern’s 25 third-quarter points as the team outscored Real 25–10 to reclaim the lead.
Teammate and former Real Madrid player Xavier Rathan-Mayes added 14 points and four assists, while Kamar Baldwin and Oscar da Silva chipped in 10 points each. Bayern held Real to just 33% from beyond the arc and 10 points in the third frame — a decisive defensive turnaround that shifted the game’s momentum.
Rathan-Mayes sparked the fourth-quarter surge with a triple, a layup, and two assists, helping Bayern extend the lead to double digits. Real Madrid guard Theo Maledon’s 15 points and Trey Lyles’s 20-point effort weren’t enough to prevent the collapse.
The victory marked Bayern’s first win against Real Madrid since 2023 and provided much-needed confidence heading into Thursday’s home clash with Virtus Bologna. Real Madrid will look to regroup when it hosts defending champion Fenerbahce Ulker in Round 8.
