Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey underwent an arthroscopic procedure to relieve right knee discomfort, NBA insider Shams Charania reported. The 23-year-old will be re-evaluated in four weeks to determine his return to action.

Ivey’s latest setback comes after a challenging start to the 2025–26 season. He suffered a knee injury during the preseason against the Memphis Grizzlies, forcing him to miss the remainder of Detroit’s exhibition games.

The young guard has battled injuries before this season. On January 1 he broke his left fibula after colliding with Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony while chasing a loose ball, ending his 2024–25 campaign early.

Despite injuries, Ivey has shown strong production in his first three NBA seasons. He has averaged 16.1 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game across 181 career appearances while shooting 35.2% from three-point range.

During the 2024–25 season, Ivey posted career highs with 17.6 points per game and 4.1 rebounds while starting all 30 games before the injury.

Ivey’s recovery from arthroscopic surgery is expected to take at least four weeks, with the team monitoring his progress closely. The procedure is aimed at addressing right knee discomfort while minimizing long-term impact on his mobility and performance.
