The Milwaukee Bucks have signed guard AJ Green to a four-year, $45 million fully guaranteed contract extension, NBA insider Shams Charania reported. The deal keeps the Iowa native with the franchise through the 2029–30 season, preventing him from entering free agency next summer.
Green has steadily grown into one of the league’s elite shooters. Last season, he averaged 7.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 22.7 minutes per game while shooting 42.7% from three-point range and 44.9% on catch-and-shoot threes.
Since going undrafted in 2022, Green has appeared in 164 career games, mostly off the bench, and has averaged 5.8 points per game. His development has provided the Bucks with a reliable perimeter threat and added depth to the roster.
The 6-foot-4 guard also made an impact in the playoffs this year. Over five games, Green averaged 11 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2 assists while shooting 51.4% from beyond the arc.
The contract marks a significant milestone for Green, who has gone from an undrafted rookie to a fully guaranteed multi-year NBA player.
