The Chicago Bulls have signed and then immediately waived forward Kevin Knox, according to the NBA’s official transaction log.
On October 8, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that Knox and the Bulls reached an agreement.
While the details weren’t specified, it was likely an Exhibit 10 contract, which would direct him to the Windy City Bulls in the G League.
Under such a deal, Knox could earn a bonus of up to $85,300 if he stays with the affiliate for at least 60 days.
Knox, 26, split last season between the NBA and G League.
He averaged 25.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in 12 games with Santa Cruz, Golden State’s affiliate, and earned a pair of 10-day contracts with the Warriors before finishing the year with them.
He saw limited minutes in 14 NBA games.
A former ninth overall pick by New York in 2018, Knox played three-plus seasons with the Knicks before being traded to Atlanta in 2022.
Since then, he has spent time with Detroit, Portland, and Utah, moving frequently at trade deadlines and free agency.
Over seven NBA seasons, he has appeared in 320 games with averages of 7.3 points and 2.8 rebounds.
The Bulls currently have 19 players on their roster, leaving them two short of the offseason maximum.
Seven-year NBA veteran Kevin Knox is likely to open the season in the G League after being signed and waived by the Bulls. https://t.co/DxjMHbHtFp
