The Charlotte Hornets have added a new face to their roster, announcing the signing of forward Eric Dixon, the team confirmed on Wednesday.

Dixon joins Charlotte after spending the summer with the Los Angeles Lakers, who initially signed him to a two-way deal shortly after the 2025 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-8 forward went undrafted despite leading the NCAA in scoring during his final season at Villanova.

The Hornets did not disclose the terms of the contract, but Dixon is expected to compete for a rotation spot in training camp. His addition comes as Charlotte continues to reshape its frontcourt depth heading into the 2025–26 season.

In his fifth and final year at Villanova, Dixon averaged 23.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 40.7% from three-point range on over seven attempts per game.

Before joining the Lakers, Dixon’s ability to stretch the floor and score efficiently from multiple spots drew interest from several NBA teams. Over five collegiate seasons, he played in 162 games, averaging 14.3 points and 5.6 rebounds while connecting on 38.7% of his career three-point attempts.
