The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Villanova standout Eric Dixon to a two-way NBA contract, according to a report by Shams Charania. The deal comes just days after the conclusion of the 2025 NBA Draft, where Dixon went undrafted despite leading the NCAA in scoring last season.
Dixon averaged 23.3 points per game during his fifth year at Villanova, converting 40.7% of his three-point attempts on 7.2 tries per contest. His scoring prowess and shooting efficiency from the perimeter helped make him one of the most productive big men in college basketball in 2024–25.
The 6-foot-8 forward also shot 81.3% from the free throw line, adding 5.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 0.8 steals per game across 35 starts.
Over five collegiate seasons, Dixon played in 162 games and averaged 14.3 points and 5.6 rebounds. He steadily improved his long-range shooting, finishing his career with a 38.7% mark from deep. His final season placed him firmly on NBA radars even though he was not selected in either round of the draft.
Dixon’s two-way agreement with the Lakers allows him to split time between the main roster and their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. Under current rules, players on two-way contracts can appear in up to 50 NBA games during the regular season.
