Quentin Grimes will remain with the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2025–26 season, signing his one-year qualifying offer worth $8.7 million. The deal also prevents the team from trading him without his consent, giving Grimes control over his immediate future.

Grimes’ agent, David Bauman, revealed that the 76ers rejected multiple proposals from the player’s side. Grimes’ camp offered a one-year, $17 million deal waiving the no-trade clause and a two-year, $34 million contract with a player option, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

Philadelphia’s first formal offer of the offseason came on September 24, totaling four years and $39 million. Days later, the team proposed a one-year, $8.8 million contract that added $100,000 above Grimes’ qualifying offer to waive his no-trade clause, which was also declined.

Both sides ultimately viewed the qualifying offer as the simplest path forward. Grimes’ decision allows him to bet on himself, with a chance to re-enter free agency in the summer of 2026 with unrestricted status.

Grimes joined the 76ers in February 2025, traded alongside a 2025 second-round pick for Caleb Martin. He quickly made an impact, scoring a career-high 44 points against the Golden State Warriors on March 1 and topping that with 46 points on March 17, including eight three-pointers and 13 rebounds.

Last season, the 25-year-old guard averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists across 28 games in Philadelphia. His offensive versatility helped solidify the backcourt while the team dealt with injuries and roster uncertainty.
