Pascal Siakam addressed the Pacers’ expectations for the 2025–26 season following Tyrese Haliburton’s season-ending Achilles injury. “That’s not the way I look at it,” Siakam said Monday at Pacers Media Day when asked about being a No. 1 scoring option, via Indianapolis Star.
“I think for us, last year and the way we play, it’s always been about team. It’s never been about one person,” the Cameroonian forward added. He emphasized that the team would need to collectively replace Haliburton’s contributions.
Siakam, who re-signed with the Pacers on a four-year, $189.5 million contract in July 2024, has delivered multiple standout performances this past season.
“It’s not going to take one person to replace Ty. We’re all gonna have to do it collectively. That’s the way we have to think about it,” Siakam said.
Over his career, Siakam has averaged 18.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, earning three All-Star selections and leading the Pacers to back-to-back Eastern Conference Finals appearances. He also earned Eastern Conference Finals MVP honors after averaging 24.8 points per game in the 2025 postseason.
With the Pacers entering the 2025–26 season as defending Eastern Conference champions, Siakam will play a central role in guiding a roster featuring newcomers like Taelon Peter and Jarace Walker.
“The way we approach games, it’s never been about one person. We all are gonna have to do it collectively,” Siakam said.
