During the 2025 Golden State Warriors Media Day, Jimmy Butler opened up about his offseason, teammates, and life off the court.

He emphasized the importance of connecting with teammates early, saying, “I just wanted to be around my guys. I got the opportunity to see a lot of them over the summer… It’s like my family into my home, have a good time, and let them in a little bit of my life.”

Butler addressed the Jonathan Kuminga situation, noting, “I hope it gets resolved… We all love JK. We all want JK to be happy. So, we’re going to let JK and his organization figure it out.” He underscored his perspective from 15 years in the league, emphasizing patience and respect for the process.

Off the court, Butler shared updates on his Big Face Coffee brand, stating, “I’m hoping to open up… a shop here, maybe like February, March. But Big Face will be here permanently.” He also discussed his wine collection, highlighting bottles created for his children, adding, “Those mean the most to me because they went out of their way to gift these bottles of wine with my kids’ names on them and their birth dates.”

Reflecting on the previous season and recovery from a fall in the Houston series, Butler said, “I got my rest from that fall, body recovered, and then got right back to it. I love the grind… That’s how I know I can play for a while longer.”

Butler praised his teammates and the Warriors organization, noting the culture and family-oriented environment. “They take care of you. The way they communicate, allow you to be yourself… It’s incredible,” he said. He also praised Draymond Green for his versatility and work ethic, commenting, “His heart… Whatever you need him to do, he can do it. That’s just who he is.”

On the competitive front, Butler expressed excitement about training and playing alongside Stephen Curry and Green, stating, “You always have a chance when Steph is on your team… We’re going to be in really good shape. We get to practice soon, get to compete, and I don’t think we’re going to catch anybody by surprise.”

Butler also recapped his summer highlights, sharing personal experiences with family and friends. “My biggest highlight was taking my kids to Marba, Spain, and just seeing the joy on their faces… Spending my time with them in Spain was elite,” he said.

He concluded by reflecting on team camaraderie and the tone he set during a summer mini-camp, emphasizing, “We got some work in, but it’s all about being around one another… Just know that everybody’s in this thing together.”
