The Minnesota Timberwolves have added rookie forward Nate Santos to their roster, the team confirmed in a press release.
Santos is coming off a breakout year at Dayton, where he earned second-team All-Atlantic 10 honors by averaging 14.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game across 34 appearances.
He showed strong shooting efficiency as well, hitting 44% from the floor and an impressive 41.8% from beyond the arc.
Before transferring to Dayton in 2023, Santos spent his first two college seasons at Pittsburgh.
Despite going undrafted in June, Santos gained professional experience over the summer with the Orlando Magic in Las Vegas Summer League.
He played in four games, posting modest totals of five points, six rebounds, and three steals.
Earlier in the spring, he had also been among the 44 players selected to showcase their skills at the G League Elite Camp.
While Minnesota didn’t reveal the exact terms of his deal, it’s widely expected to be an Exhibit 10 contract.
Such agreements give the Timberwolves roster flexibility while also offering Santos a pathway to the Iowa Wolves, their G League affiliate.
If he is waived but spends at least 60 days with Iowa, he would qualify for a bonus worth up to $85,300.
Along with Santos, the Wolves officially announced the signing of guard CJ Fulton. These moves bring Minnesota’s preseason roster to the maximum of 20 players as training camp approaches.
