The Minnesota Timberwolves have decided to part ways with forward Nate Santos, according to the NBA.com transaction log.

Santos had only just joined the team earlier this week, signing an Exhibit 10 training camp deal two days ago.

The 6’7″ forward had previously suited up for the Orlando Magic during Summer League play after going undrafted in June, where he appeared in four games and averaged 1.3 points and 1.5 rebounds across 10.4 minutes per contest.

Before making his push toward the pros, Santos built his reputation at the collegiate level. He began his career at Pittsburgh before transferring to Dayton, where he played his final two seasons.

As a senior, Santos enjoyed a breakout year, posting averages of 14.3 points and 5.6 rebounds while shooting an impressive 41.8% from three-point range – a key factor in raising his profile as a versatile forward with floor-spacing ability.

While his stint with Minnesota’s main roster has come to an end quickly, Santos still has a path within the organization.

Under the terms of his Exhibit 10 agreement, he will remain eligible to collect a bonus worth up to $85,300 if he spends at least 60 days with the Timberwolves’ G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves.

That possibility provides both Santos and Minnesota with an opportunity to continue the relationship, with the forward developing his game in Des Moines while staying connected to the NBA club.
