The Dallas Mavericks have decided to waive guard D’Moi Hodge ahead of the start of team training camp, according to the NBA’s official player transaction log.
Hodge had been signed earlier this month to a non-guaranteed deal, which likely included Exhibit 10 provisions, though the exact terms were not disclosed.
Hodge, a 6’4″ wing, went undrafted out of Missouri in 2023 but managed to secure a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, appearing in seven games and averaging 2.0 points and 0.7 assists in 5.9 minutes per contest.
He spent most of the season in the G League, splitting time between the South Bay Lakers and the Rip City Remix, where he averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.6 rebounds over 30 games.
Last season, Hodge played in Greece with Aris Thessaloniki, posting 7.1 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.5 steals across 15 EuroCup games.
According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, Hodge is expected to join the Texas Legends, the Mavericks’ G League affiliate.
If he remains with the Legends for at least 60 days, he could earn a bonus of up to $85,300 on top of his base salary.
This move keeps Hodge in the system and gives him an opportunity to continue developing while staying on the radar of the Mavericks’ organization.
