Fenerbahce secured the 2025 Turkish SuperCup with a thrilling 85–83 victory over Besiktas, marking the club’s first SuperCup title since 2017 and the eighth in its history.
Nicolo Melli emerged as the game’s decisive figure, denying Devon Dotson’s potential game-winning three-pointer with just two seconds left on the clock.
“Late in the game, every possession matters,” Melli said after the contest. “I knew I had to be ready for that shot, and thankfully I was.”
Devon Hall paced Fenerbahce with 23 points, hitting four of six triples, while Wade Baldwin contributed 20 points. New signing Mikael Jantunen made an impressive official debut, scoring 19 points on 4-5 three-pointers and adding seven rebounds.
Besiktas fought back late in the fourth quarter. Dotson finished with 25 points, and Vito Brown added 16. Trailing 82–74 with just over a minute left, Besiktas closed the gap to 84–82 with seven seconds remaining.
In the final sequence, Fenerbahce fouled Dotson intentionally after he made the first free throw. He missed the second on purpose to set up a possible game-winner, but Melli’s crucial block sealed the victory.
“The way we closed the game was team effort,” Hall said. “Everyone stepped up when it counted.”
